LPG, the clean gas
LPG (liquid Petroleum Gas) is a mixture of hydrocarbons, consisting mainly of propane and butane.
Like natural gas, LPG is a source of energy with a low environmental impact which is used mainly for heating homes and for transportation. LPG is an environment friendly fuel because the amount of polluting substances and greenhouse gases it emits into the atmosphere during combustion both while the heating of homes and powering motor vehicles is a much smaller percentage than traditional liquid fuels.
LPG has a high calorific power. Burning 1 kg. Of LPG one obtains as much heat as from burning 1.4 cubic metres of methane or 14 kW of electric energy.
